A beginner's guide to the beans we pour
Coffee menus can read like wine lists. Words like "bright", "stone fruit" and "chocolatey" get thrown around, and most people just want to know which one they'll like.
Here's how our two house beans compare, scored out of ten by Tom after far too many tastings.
Elm Row Espresso
Our everyday blend. Brazil and Colombia, roasted medium-dark. It's the one in your flat white.
Filter of the week
This changes every Monday. This week it's a washed Ethiopian, light roasted, which tastes almost like tea.
If you take milk, go espresso. If you drink it black, try the filter.
Still not sure? Ask for a taster. We always have a little cup of each going behind the counter.
